Responsibilities
The Art Director has strong creative intuitions, an advanced and compelling graphic or visual design background and the ability to lead a team. 
 
The Art Director shall design experiences and events for renowned brands in addition to working on the creation of original IP, with a focus on international pavilion exposition design, the expo industry and events and exhibitions. The chosen candidate can understand the essence of a brand or a story and imagine original and resonant ways to give it dimensions, physicality and elevation. This person is forward-thinking, curious about the world and passionate about conceptualizing surprising, moving, visual stories and immersive experiences. 
 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Mentor, guide and manage the team to ensure team members are motivated, challenged and inspired to  perform at their best.
  • Manage project deliverables, processes, resource allocation and other design studio matters
  • Conceptualize and drive proposals and pitches fully, together with a team.
  • Creates remarkable, resonant and memorable experiences for guests / clients.
  • Drives and initiates regular contact to represent the creative development of exhibitions to our internal teams (VHE, BIG LAB, ANIMAX, CNEX) and/or our external partners and collaborators. 
  • Research original, relevant, resonant, new creation and design sources, methods, approaches, materials to support the design effort at each stage of Neon’s development and evolution.
  • Contributes to a collaborative, collective process of exhibit/experience development.
  • Participates in the planning of exhibit and experience design related projects in coordination with other team members.
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree in design, visual arts, architecture, environmental, museum installation or any related field, highly desirable.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing above mentioned fields with regards to installations, exhibits, conventions, immersive theatre, or similar. 
  • Expertise in Sketch up, AutoCAD, Photoshop or Illustrator is a strong plus.
  • Thinks holistically about a project – narrative, guest journey, retail, box-office, F&B, interactives, etc.
  • Capacity to cultivate the presence to focus on one task at a time while planning and organizing for multiple requests, projects and deadlines, in a start-up (meaning not fully defined) environment. 
  • Demonstrate initiative, foresight and the love of solving small and big problems. Skillful communications of ideas, concept, form and content.
  • Understanding of design fabrication, prototyping and production.
